The world is talking about images of Jordan …

The lake, known as the ‘Dead Sea Pool’, turned red. The end state of the lake, next to the Dead Sea, was discovered by workers from the Jordanian Ministry of Water and Irrigation.

The images took place on social media in no time, were shared thousands of times, and went viral.

According to information from the British newspaper Daily Mail, the authorities took action after the images.

The examination of the water samples taken from the lake has started. However, authorities have yet to determine the cause of the disturbing color change.

According to the first reports, the cause of the color change may be due to the presence of algae or iron oxide.

Fathi Al-Huwaimel, chairman of the Al-Karak council’s water and agriculture committee, said authorities had been contacted to determine the source of the water.

Meanwhile, Sakhr Al-Nusour, head of the Union of Jordanian Geologists, said the color change in question may have been caused by substances added by humans.

This region, whose origins date back around four million years, is home to one of the saltiest water bodies in the world.
