The tail-registered Gulfstream IV type aircraft TC-GVA, leased to a Spanish citizen by ACM Holding, owned by businessman Şehmuz Özkan, flew from Riyadh to Malaga, Spain, with a Turkish crew of 4 people Tuesday. The plane took off from Malaga the day before and left for Brazil. A Spanish passenger named Gonzalez Valdes boarded the plane that arrived at Fortaleza International Airport in Brazil yesterday morning. The plane restarted and landed at Ribeirao Preto Airport, its second stopover in the same country. Cocaine was found in dozens of suitcases during a search of the plane by customs control teams. It was declared that the drug seized during the operation, in which the Brazilian police recorded at all times, was 1.3 tons. While the Spanish passenger Valdès, the two pilots of the plane, the cabin crew and the technical staff were detained, it was made clear that the plane’s next flight was to Brussels.
The suitcases were opened in front of Gonzalez Valdes, who chartered the plane.
