Speaking to AFP, an unnamed military official said: “Israel is assessing whether the conditions are right to stop the air campaign against Palestinian militants in Gaza.”

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said: “We are trying to find out when the time is right for the ceasefire.”

In the same news, it was also pointed out that Israel may decide to continue operations if it deems it necessary.

The same source went on to say as follows;

“The question is whether Hamas understands the message to Israel that it is not possible to repeat rocket fire”

The military official stressed and added that Israel has given its response to the Hamas rocket attacks to go beyond “narrow retaliation”;

“We took this as an opportunity to reduce Hamas’ capacity.”

It was said that the Egyptian administration has offered a ceasefire to Hamas and Israel to end tensions in the Gaza Strip and has accepted the ceasefire proposal, which will come into effect on Thursday, and Israel has not yet received a response.


In contrast, the number of people who lost their lives in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip rose to 220, including 63 children and 36 women, and the number of injured to 1,509.
