Corona panic at Paralympic Games: number increased to 257

The organizing committee announced that Kovid-19 had been detected in 16 other people during the Paralympic Games.

Two athletes participating in the tournament were among those diagnosed with the virus in the past 24 hours.

Among those caught up in Kovid-19 are a committee member, 10 contract workers and a member of the media. Those detected with the virus have been quarantined.

Thus, the number of people who caught Kovid-19 among those accredited to the Paralympic Games rose to 257.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, in which approximately 4,400 athletes from 160 countries and regions competed in 22 branches, will continue through September 5.
