It has been reported that the National Guard will be deployed to support the fight against the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) at hospitals in the US state of Oregon.
Oregon Governor Kate Brown, in her post on her social media account, said that yesterday morning 733 people in the state with severe Kovid-19 were hospitalized.
Brown said 185 of them were treated in the intensive care unit.
Noting the gravity of the situation, Brown announced that he had deployed the Oregon National Guard to support hospitals in Oregon.
Brown pointed out that 500 guards will be deployed initially, but that number can be increased to 1,500 if necessary.
In order to avoid the increase in cases, Brown warned the public to get vaccinated and wear masks in public places, and noted that the Delta variant is highly contagious and that precautions should be taken.
Brown requested support and funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to combat the increase in cases.
