According to figures given by the government, 8 million 810,000 doses of Kovid-19 vaccine have been administered in India in the past 24 hours, reaching the highest daily count in the vaccination campaign which began in January, reported the BBC.

Despite the increase in the number of days, it was reported that only 13 percent of the population eligible for vaccination could be vaccinated and a large portion of the population was vulnerable to the virus.

India has become the second most affected country in the world by the virus, after the United States, which has reached more than 35 million cases with around 32 million cases.

After the United States and Brazil, India is the third country with the most deaths in the world, with more than 400,000 deaths from the virus.

The Indian government plans to vaccinate all vaccinated citizens by the end of this year, but vaccine shortages and skepticism are preventing the campaign from meeting its target numbers.
