At least 30 people have died in a train crash in Pakistan.

According to CNN International reports based on railway officials, the Sir Syed Express train collided with the Millat Express train between stations in Sindh province.

Although the images taken by eyewitnesses to the scene confirm this information, no official statement has yet been made on how the accident happened.

“A few people died and many were trapped inside,” an official told AFP.

According to reports in the country’s press, officials said the death toll is expected to rise.

Rescue efforts are still underway at the scene, he said.

In the country where many train accidents have occurred before, at least 75 people died as a result of a train fire between Karachi and Rawalpindi in October 2019.

In 2016, two trains carrying hundreds of passengers collided in Karachi, killing 21 people.
