Last minute … Wuhan declaration from China

Chinese state newspaper Global Times ran a column on Sunday.

The article, which targeted US President Joe Biden for launching an investigation into the alleged “lab leak”, contained the following statements;

“Biden is taking a dangerous stance by calling for an investigation into the alleged Kovid-19 leak from a Wuhan lab.”

Referring to the United States’ efforts to find weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq before the Saddam invasion of Iraq, the newspaper claimed that Biden’s approach was no different.

In February 2003, then Secretary of State Colin Powell told the United Nations that Saddam Hussein’s regime had developed weapons of mass destruction to justify its invasion of the country and posed an imminent threat.

However, despite years of research by US authorities, weapons of mass destruction have never been found.

Biden on Wednesday ordered U.S. intelligence officials to further investigate the claim that the leak from a Chinese lab caused the outbreak.

The American press had announced Biden’s move with the headlines “President ordered them to redouble their research efforts.”

In the latest period, documents showing that China was conducting coronavirus testing at its Wuhan lab have leaked.

After these documents, many scientists called for a detailed investigation into the claim in question.

But China insists the virus mutated and passed naturally from animals to humans, possibly from a market in Wuhan city.
