Many accusations have been made, such as “harming the country’s nuclear industry by signing the nuclear deal”.

In accordance with article 90 of the Iranian Constitution, anyone who has filed a complaint against the work of the legislative, executive and judicial bodies can submit their complaint in writing to Parliament. The General Meeting is also required to respond to these complaints within the allotted time.

After former US President Donald Trump took office, Washington unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear deal on May 8, 2018 and began reimposing sanctions on Iran. With the introduction of the so-called “heaviest sanctions in history”, Iran faced serious economic problems.

Conservative politicians, especially Speaker of Parliament Mohammed Bakir Kalibaf, have criticized the Rouhani government for its mismanagement of the country.

Rouhani, on the other hand, in his speech to the Council of Ministers on September 23, 2020, argued that the burden of the problems stemming from the sanctions, which he called an “economic war”, does not rest solely on the shoulders of the government, but on the shoulders of the entire state.

Some kept the nuclear deal.
