Myanmar security forces and anti-coup clashes: 2 dead

In photos and videos posted on social media regarding the clashes in Mandalay, the second most populous city in the country, since morning military vehicles belonging to the Burmese army have been seen besieging a center where members of the military were present. People’s Defense Forces (PDF).

In the videos, members of the PDF were seen responding to attacks by the Burmese military.

Activist Keren Khin briefed the Anadolu Agency (AA) on the clashes and said a building where PDF members were staying in Chanmyatharzi district was besieged in the morning.

Khin said: “The clashes that started in the morning are continuing. The Burmese army attacked the PDF fighters with heavy ammunition. So far, 2 PDF members have been seriously injured and 8 people have been captured by the Burmese army. mentionned.

Noting that there was no news of any loss of life among anti-coup fighters, Khin noted that 2 Myanmar army soldiers died in the clashes.

No statement has yet been made by the Burmese army regarding the clashes.
