Number of Palestinians killed in Gaza in Israeli attacks rises to 243

After the ceasefire between Hamas and the Tel Aviv administration, the Israeli attacks on Gaza ended at 2 a.m.

The Palestinian health ministry in Gaza has issued a new statement regarding the loss of life in the 11-day attacks that Israel staged in the region.

In the statement, it was stated that the number of Palestinians who had lost their lives in Gaza as a result of the Israeli attacks had risen to 243.

It was said that among those who lost their lives, 66 were children, 39 were women and the number of injured reached 1,910.

On the other hand, local sources in the area said that the corpse of a child was removed from the debris of the house destroyed in Gaza due to the Israeli attacks.

The Israeli attack on worshipers of Masjid al-Aqsa in occupied East Jerusalem during Ramadan and plans to force residents of Sheikh Cerrah district from their homes have increased tension in the area.

Palestinian resistance groups in the Gaza Strip allowed Israeli police to withdraw from Masjid al-Aqsa and the Sheikh Cerrah neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem until 6 p.m. local time on Monday, May 10.

After the Israeli police failed to withdraw from Masjid al-Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah, Palestinian resistance groups fired numerous rockets at Israel.

Thereupon, the IDF announced that a military operation called “Guardian of the Walls” had been launched against the Gaza Strip.

Following pressure from the US administration, the Israeli side backed down and struck a ceasefire with Hamas.
