In the statement made by the Ukrainian armed forces, it was reported that the separatists had violated the ceasefire twice at 07:00, starting at midnight.

In the statement, it was stated that a Ukrainian soldier was killed and 3 soldiers were injured as a result of open fire by separatists in the Novognatovka and Zolotoye-4 regions of Donbass.

The protests began in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, on November 21, 2013, after President Viktor Yanukovych failed to sign the Association Agreement with the European Union (EU).

After Yanukovych fled the country in February 2014, after protests escalated, pro-Russian separatists declared their so-called independence in the eastern cities of Donetsk and Lugansk.

More than 13,000 people have lost their lives in clashes between separatists and the Kiev government since 2014.
