class = “cf”>

The European Commission is preparing to officially offer a total of 5.7 billion euros in support to Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan, which are hosting large numbers of refugees. The amount foreseen in the package for Syrians in Turkey is 3.5 billion euros. The European Commission has allocated € 535 million in bridging funding to Turkey this year so that important humanitarian projects can continue until early 2022.

With the proposed addition of € 3 billion, it aims to meet the urgent needs of refugees and their host communities in areas such as health, education and social security. The EU’s new financial package, which plans to gradually shift resources for refugees from humanitarian aid to socio-economic support, will be used in 2022-24.
