The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, met a bitter surprise yesterday during his visit to the Drôme region in the south-east of the country, and one person in the crowd slapped Macron in the face.
As the echoes of this event, which was seen second by second by people around, continued, the first statement on the subject came from Macron.
“We must not let this overshadow other issues that are so important to the lives of so many people,” Macron told local newspaper Dauphiné Libéré.
When asked if he felt the political climate was deteriorating, Macron replied ‘no’.
Macron made the following statements in his statement to the newspaper;
The French people are a republican people. The overwhelming majority of French people are concerned with fundamental questions. Let us not allow extremely violent individual incidents, which can also be seen in some demonstrations, to dominate the public debate. They don’t deserve it.
Stressing that he will continue to visit many parts of the country, Macron said the incident will not prevent him from meeting people and that he has “no worries.”

Macron said: “I actually greeted those who were with the man there and took a photo with them. I continued and I will continue. “Nothing can stop me,” he said.
THE IDENTITY OF THE ATTACKER IS DECLARED!
The French press wrote that the attacker practiced Kendo, the art of Far Eastern fencing, and was also a HEMA master.
The assailant was said to be following far-right social media accounts. The Valence prosecutor’s office announced that the 28-year-old assailant, identified as Damien T., and his friend, who was detained with him, did not have a criminal record.
