Faryab Provincial Council Deputy Ak Muhammed Nuri said in a press statement that the activists first targeted the police headquarters building in central Kaysar district with a vehicle laden with bombs, then launched an armed attack.

Expressing that Kaysar District Police Chief Seyfurrahman Dihzad and 14 security guards lost their lives in the attack, Nuri said 37 security guards were also detained by militants.

Nuri noted that the Taliban have taken control of many areas in central Kaysar, and that if the support force does not arrive, the district will be entirely in Taliban hands.

In the statement made by the Taliban, it was claimed that the district police leadership and many police stations were under attack control.

On the one hand, while efforts to ensure the stability of the country continue, on the other, the attacks continue.

According to the Afghan government, violence has increased in the country since foreign forces began to withdraw.
