Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, Undersecretary of the Prime Ministry of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Chairman of the Crisis Committee, briefed on developments regarding the oil spill from Syria and said that the wind, which will be effective until 3:00 p.m., threatens both the east and north coasts.

Stating that the wind is expected to blow towards the TRNC for 6 hours tomorrow, Amcaoğlu stressed that no pollution has been detected on the coasts of the TRNC so far.
Amcaoğlu said they constantly check and observe, are in contact with authorities and officials, and want drones to explore from Karpaz to the Kyrenia coast.
