Anne Hidalgo, the socialist mayor of Paris, the capital of France, said in a statement to the city of Rouen that she would be a candidate in the presidential elections to be held in April 2022.
Hidalgo is expected to be the party’s official candidate by winning the vote to be held at the end of September among those who want to run for the Socialist Party.
