The results of the online survey conducted by the Netherlands-based Iranians Survey Group (GAMAAN) between May 27 and June 3, revealed the views of the Iranian people on the presidential elections to be held. June 18.

Three percent said they would vote for Abdunnasır Himmeti, known to be close to reformists, 2.5% for conservative Muhsin Rızayi, 1% for reformist Muhsin Mihralizade and conservative candidates Emir Hüseyin Kadızade Hashemi and Ali Rıza Zakani.

While 16 percent of participants did not know who to vote for, 9 percent said they would vote invalid.

“Who would you vote for if there were free elections?” When asked, 29% of those questioned answered that they would vote in favor of the ousted son of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, Reza Pahlavi.

Other participants explained their preferences as follows:

The survey revealed that the participation rate of Iranians abroad will be very low in these elections.

It has been determined that only 4 percent of the roughly 6,000 people who participated in the overseas survey will go to the polls in these elections.

This rate was 54% in the 2017 presidential elections.
