The wife of “Squirt” will confess her crime months later

El Chapo Guzman’s wife Emma Coronel Aispuro will admit this week that she helped her husband run his billion dollar business and helped him escape from prison.

Aispuro will appeal to federal district court in Washington on June 10, according to reports from Sputnik International, which the New York Times based on someone with knowledge of the case.

According to the same news, Aispuro, who agreed with the prosecutor’s office, will confess to some crimes, but will not provide information about his wife’s business partners and relatives.

Guzman’s wife Emma Coronel Aispuro was arrested at Dulles International Airport on February 22.

Authorities decided there was sufficient evidence against the 31-year-old woman and ordered Aispuro’s pre-trial detention.

It was noted that Aispuro was accused of bringing drugs such as heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine to the United States.

Mexican drug lord Guzman was picked up in January 2016 and extradited to the United States after escaping from two maximum security prisons in Mexico in 2001 and 2015.

Accused of being the leader of the world’s largest anti-drug organization, El Chapo was sentenced to life imprisonment during his trial held in New York, United States, on July 17, 2019.
