The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, known for years of war and acts of terrorism, was the scene of an important meeting in international politics yesterday. The “Baghdad Cooperation and Partnership Conference” brought together representatives of many countries with good relations in one room.
Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, President of Egypt Abdul Fattah es-Sisi, King of Jordan 2nd Abdullah, Prime Minister of Kuwait Sabah al-Khalid es-Sabah, Emir of Dubai and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum attended the meeting. The conference, where Turkey was represented by Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, was also attended by Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Ferhan and new Iranian Foreign Minister Hüseyin Emir Abdullahiyan.

While bringing together representatives of countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia, which are open between conferences, Minister Çavuşoğlu was in the same framework as Egyptian President Sisi, with whom Ankara wishes to re-develop relations, on the family photo tied to the summit. In his speech at the Baghdad conference, Çavuşoğlu underlined the economic cooperation and partnership between the two countries, declaring that they will continue to support this country to ensure the stability of Iraq. Declaring that foreign interventions will not bring a solution to the region, Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said: “Our people are waiting for a solution from us.
